To Cedric, Lionel, and ricosmith. Thanks for the gifts you brought us. I watched both and was amazed at the talent and loved the choreography. Does Mylene speak any English and will she ever tour the US? I'd go see her in a heart beat. Beautiful too. Looks like Reed is in some good company.....How very excited he must be to have this opportunity. Thanks so much for coming and sharing. I'll anxiously be awaiting your recaps, as well. -------------------- The longer I live, the less chance I'll ever recover from what life keeps doing to me.

Welcome ricosmith!
QUOTE And just like the previous DVDs we can expect some extras on rehearsals, dancers, etc. Yay! Nothing beats being there though. Those guys will be working hard. Good thing they are in shape! ![]() Also, there was this comment on one of the Mylene boards: ![]() Which basically tells us that Reed bought a new t-shirt... Never a problem, Clay ! I'm always glad to talk to new people, especially when they're connected to something/someone I like somewhat. I believe Mylene speaks some English and some Russian as well : I've got a few mp3 files from her 1999-2000 tour when she was singing in Moscou and St Petersburgh and I do believe she spoke a few words in the local language... I've been to New York for 7 months on an internship in 2007. Are you from the west or the east coast ? eric |

Thanks ricosmith. Actually I'm from the South. Arkansas to be exact. I have only been to NY once. That was to see Clay Aiken in Spamalot. I looooved it there. Wish I could of had more time to do tourist stuff. Hubby did take me for a nice carriage ride in Central Park and to a nice dinner at Sardi's. I'd love a good reason to try and return there someday. Are you interning to work on Broadway, eric? Or did I miss that information posted somewhere? I'm a space cadet at times.

Mylene has lived in the US for a short time, I guess it was in 1994/1995, mainly in LA. It seems she also likes NYC a lot, usually her rehearsals begin in NYC. After the murder by one of her fans of the desk clerk of her major (Polydor which now belongs to Universal Music), and after the bad reviews and the lack of spectators for a movie she was starring in, she was in need for a change. She came back in France by the end of 1995 with a complete new look and new sound (the CD booklet was illustrated with pictures by Herb Ritts). She's famous both for her shows and her music videos, and of course she's very much appreciated by gay people (this is an understatement
I guess the whole crew is beginning to feel the pressure now, just like us. If you have any news from Reed just tell him he's already a big star among MF fans!! Live Intro 1996 Mylenium Tour Intro 1999 The most incredible final with water curtain |

Rehearsals were mentioned in March...long before the group left for France. My brother has an apartment full of Herb Ritts posters. I imagine that CD booklet was spectacular. Believe me, we totally understand and wish we were in your shoes. I love all the links. Does Mylene do any music in English or is it all in French? -------------------- her: are you near your computer?

Does Mylene do any music in English or is it all in French? Hi everybody. She tried "My soul is slashed " and "My mum is wrong", direct translations from the songs "Que mon coeur lache" and "Maman a tord". But it didn't work... I think you can find them on youtube. I wish she could come to the Madison Square.... Lionel This post has been edited by Lionel: Apr 27 2009, 03:20 PM |

Hey, I just realized there's only four days left until the tour begins. Almost time to celebrate.

Do you guys have any idea how fun it is to watch all your pre-concert excitement?!?! I guess we are quite ridiculous sometimes. But I just love it when you're waiting for something and that the excitement is rising. I love all the links. Does Mylene do any music in English or is it all in French? She made two french/english duets, one with Seal and one with Moby. Les Mots with Seal (but in this live version Seal was replaced by the drummer). Slipping away/crier la vie with Moby |

I've never been to Arkansas. Don't know what it looks like. I only know NY and Minnesota. Man, I wish I could sing and dance, that's my greatest dreams of all ^^ (I even took performing lessons during 2 years in highschool, I remember playing in a Mid-Summer Night's Dream). But nope, in 2007 I worked in NY at "Maison de la France", a French-American company which promotes tourism to France. I was working a few blocks from Central Park, it was really a dream. I dit visit Broadway a lot of times (I remember winding up out there late on Saturday nights). Now I'm working in Paris at The Nielsen Company: price audits are my everyday dreams now :-). I don't know about Spamalot. What's the story ? take care, eric |

But I just love it when you're waiting for something and that the excitement is rising. It's not ridiculous at all. At this message board, we are fans of the pop singer / actor Clay Aiken. We understand the joy of finding out a singer you love is going to tour and all the excitement of getting tickets and planning trips to see him or her. We've done it and we know how you feel! It's great! |

I don't know about Spamalot. What's the story ? take care, eric Central Park is beautiful, as was that whole area. It must have been a fantastic job. I was in NY about a year ago to see Spamalot. Had the best meal ever in a restaurant on Madison Ave called, La Goulue. Spamalot, is broad farce, (the comedy, not the food, lol) based on the humor of the British comedy group, Monty Python. Actually the musical was based off their movie, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The story plays off the Arthurian legend. It won the Tony (theater's highest honor) in 2005 for Best Musical. Clay Aiken played a cowardly knight, plus three other smaller parts, in the production. Talk about crazy excitement. As fans, we had never seen him do anything other than sing...no real dancing, no real acting. We had no idea how he would do on Broadway. He got great reviews and did very well. The producers added more singing parts into the numbers to give him solos. Fun times. Spamalot was one of 6 major shows that closed on Broadway last Jan. (the economy is not good over here right now) The touring company is still performing. -------------------- “I wanted a perfect ending. Wow, Madison Ave, that's exactly where I used to work : 444 Madison Ave. I'd never heard of that restaurant before, though. If I ever get to get to NY in the future, I'll go and have dinner there. I understand Spamalot must have been a great show. I'm sad and at the same time very surprised that up to 6 major shows closed this year on Broadway.. I didn't think the economical crash could ever reach entertainment companies, actually. I can't wait to see Mylene and her dancers/singers on stage this year! You might consider me crazy, Bottlecap, but I booked 2 tickets for 2 different shows : one in Lyon in June, the other one in Paris. 2 different locations, 2 different sizes for the show, 3 months elapse time :-) This post has been edited by ricosmith: Apr 28 2009, 06:33 AM |
